Mrs. Emilie Ernestine Vlotho died at her home four miles southeast of Ireton Tuesday morning March seventh at about six o’clock. She had suffered from month of complication of diseases. Mrs. Vlotho was forty eight years eight month and twenty eight days old when she passed away. She was born in Gutenberg Cllayton County IA June ninth 18161. Here she was united in marriage on Feb seventeen 1881 to Henry Vlotho. They came to Sioux county a few weeks later and located near Ireton.

Six children came to bless their union all of whom survive her. Deceased was a Sioux County Pioneer. She was a member of the German Lutheran Church a kind neighbor and a helping friend she will be missed in the community.

Deceased is survived by her husband, six children Mrs. Clare Wellnitz, Mrs. Tillie Eilts, Gustave, Henry, Raymond and Wesley all of Ireton. She also leaves her aged father Gust Dittmer of Guttenberg Iowa, one brother Fred Dittmer of Ireton and three sisters Mrs. Auguste Vlotho and Mrs. Josephine Onken of Ireton and Mr. Mathilda Nuehring of Guttenberg IA

The funeral services were held on Thursday march ninth from St. John’s Lutheran church of Reading township which were attended by a very large number of friends of the deceased. The services were conducted by Rev. C. D. Nuoffer. Interment was made in St. John’s Lutheran cemetery. Mrs. Louis Rousch and Mrs. Fred Dreveskracht of Howard Lake Mn and Miss Emily Rousch of Canistota South Dakota attended the funeral.
