Aardema, Charles ‘Tjalling’ born 5 Aug 1862 Franeker Friesland Netherlands, died 13 Jun 1936 Sioux Center IA. He married Emkje ‘Emma’ Jansma 1865-1936.

Charles Aardema, 73, of Doon, IA. Died at his home after an illness of about seven months. Mr. Aardema was born in Friesland August 15, 1862. At the age of 28 he married Emma Jansma. To this union ten children were born. Two daughters preceded their father in death. Survivors are Mrs. Aardema, who is very ill, four girls and six boys. He has one brother in Minnesota. Children living are Nonie and Nick of Sioux Center; John, Cy, Charley, Onie, Ann, and Tillie. Funeral services were held in Doon Wednesday afternoon.

Tjalling Nannes ‘Charles’ Aardema was born 5 Aug 1862 Schalsum, Friesland Neth. and died 13 Jun 1936 buried in Hillside Cemetery Doon IA. He was the son of Nanne Simons Aardema 1833-1910 and Tietje Tjallings Van Arkens 1832-1911. He married Emkje ‘Emma’ Jansma 1865-1936 Jun 3, 1888 Franeker Friesland. They arrived in New York 1889. They had children: Nonie 1891-1957, Klaas Nic 1892-1961, John 1894-1969, Bertha 1896-1934, Onie 1897-1976, Tillie 1899-1979, Simon 1900-1969, Charles 1902-1964, Ann 1905-1981and Emma 1907-1910.
