Ms. Hannah Spaans, age 28, of Hull, passed away on September 14, 2023, at the Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A visitation with the family present will be held on Monday, September 18, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the First Reformed Church in Hull. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, September 19, at 1:00pm, at the church with the Rev. Pieter van der Hoek officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. The Oolman Funeral Home in Hull is in charge of arrangements.

Hannah Ruth was born on March 9, 1995, in Sioux Center, the youngest of six children born to Harvey Gene and Lavonne Rose (Van Voorst) Spaans. She was raised on the family farm near Hull and graduated from Rock Valley High School.

She was very active with Hope Haven, involved with Dayhab, and enjoyed her time with the people there. She left an impression on everyone she met! Her free time was spent riding the 4-wheeler, playing with her puppy, Patches, and listening to Sermon Audio for hours at a time. Hannah loved her family, church family, and above all, the Lord Jesus.

Survivors include her parents, Harvey and Lavonne Spaans, of Hull; five siblings and their spouses, Leanne and Michael Gaul, of Hull; Matthew and Nina Spaans and Amanda and Christopher Franks, all of Hudson; Pamela and Nathan Van’t Hul, of Hull; and Timothy and Angela Spaans, of Rock Valley; eighteen nieces and nephews, with one on the way; one great-niece and one great-nephew; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herman and Clazina Spaans and James and Greta Van Voorst.

Memorials will be given to the family for future designation.
