Mrs. L. Oloff, 82 Pioneer Here Died Today.

Mrs. L. Oloff died at her home in Ireton this Thursday afternoon following a short illness. the deceased was 82 years of age at the time of her death.

Mrs. Oloff was born in Germany in 1848 and grew to young womanhood in her native country, when she migrated to America. She resided in Pennsylvania for a time later locating in Postville, IA. He was united in marriage to L. Oloff on Feb 22, 1872 and with him located in this vicinity in the early 1880s. Mr. and Mrs. Oloff celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1922.

Mrs. Oloff is survived by her aged husband, two daughters, Mrs. Clara Kallsen and Mrs. Minnie Riter, all of whom reside in this community, also 12 grand children and 2 great grand children. A complete obituary will be published next week.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran church, with the pastor, Rev. F. W. Bruch in charge. Burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery at Craig.

Minnie Rickert Oloff, daughter of Mr. Christian Rickert and his wife Anne nee Schultz, was born on November 2, 1848 in Heidoroff, Germany and soon after received into membership with the Christian church by baptism. At the age of 21 she came to America and two years later was untied in marriage to Louis Oloff on Feb 23, 1872 at Mauch Chunk PA.

In 1876 the came to Cedar Rapids IA and farmed, in 1884 they came to Plymouth County where they remained until 1903, in which year they retired to Ireton, residing here the past 27 years.

In 1922 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and in the spring of this year observed their 58 anniversary in a special church service.

Since then she began to fail noticalby. Becoming bedfast the last ten days, the best of care was given. God called her to eternal rest Thursday afternoon Dec 4, Thus she attained the age of 82 years 1 month and 2 days.

Besides her aged husband she is mourned by two sons, Louis Oloff or Ireton and Fred Oloff of Craig; Two daughters, Mrs. J. Philip Riter of Ireton and Mrs. Arthur Kallsen of Struble; Also 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Ben Helmrich of Le Mars .
