Myron James Krull

Myron J. Krull, age 76, of Rock Rapids, IA, went to Heaven, Wednesday, May 17, 2023, doing what he loved to do near his childhood home, on a tractor.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 22, 2023, at First Reformed Church, in Rock Rapids, IA, at 10:30am. A private family burial will be held following the services.

Myron James Krull was born February 4, 1947, in Hull, IA, to Alvin and Henrietta (Korthals) Krull. He attended school in George and graduated in 1965. He went on to attend Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, SD, for a degree in business and accounting. Myron met his beloved wife, Penny Iwen on a blind date and they were married four months later, on August 31, 1968. Myron worked his way from bookkeeper to manager, to owner of the Edna Elevator for the better part of four decades, where he met many lifelong friends.

When he wasn’t working, Myron loved to play fast-pitch softball, with the Edna Elevator team, for many years. Always an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. Even after retiring from the elevator, he couldn’t stop working. He loved his cows, and filled his days caring for them, watching them from his recliner, and was always eager to tell you about them. He also had a love/hate relationship with the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Myron loved his wife and family and showed it through acts of service and beamed with pride when talking about them. He took the time to talk to everyone and had a contagious laugh when talking about his recent mishaps and adventures. We can only imagine what he had to say when he walked through Heaven’s gates and saw Jesus waiting for him.

Myron is survived by his wife, Penny; three children, Marc (Natalie Falkenberg) Krull, Greg (Shelly Kramer) Krull, and ChyAnne (Shawn) Huyser; twelve grandchildren, Taylor Krull, Matt Krull, Austin Krull, Dylann (Nick) Huyser-Willams, Brynn Krull, Jadyn Krull, Wyatt Krull, Jager Huyser, Laurel Krull, Tatum Huyser, Owen Krull, Chayse Huyser; and one great-grandchild, Jackson Krull.

Myron is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Henrietta (Korthals) Krull; a nephew, Gary Enderson; and brother-in-law, Duane Enderson.
