Death beckons every hour. It is our sad duty to report another sudden death, that last Thursday took place, to mention, was of Mrs. J. de Roos. Mrs. De Roos was from Dakota visiting with her brother Pier Wynia Thursday she felt good and was still visiting that day. As we heard, she came home in the evening and felt an impass. After a few moments she collapsed into the house, gave a few more breaths, and was no more. The remains were transported to Springfield, S D.

Jan Jans De Roos was born 6 Jun 1848 Wommels, Friesland Netherlands Died 23 Sep 1901 Lennox, SD. He was married to Kate Wijnia 1847-1907. She was the daughter of Foeke Jan Wijnia 1822-1872 and Janna Oosterhaven 1820-1849. They had seven children – Jan, Frank, Nick, Jane, Oepke, Agnes and Peter.
