Mrs. R. Boer Passes On: Mrs. R. Boer, a pioneer of this vicinity, died at the home of her son, John De Raad, two miles west of Carnes, Saturday, September 15, after and illness of several years with dropsy. Deceased was one of the earliest settlers in this country coming to this country when it was very new. She was born in the Netherlands and came here when a small child. She was married three times, the first time to Arie De Raad and to this union nine children were born all of home survive the mother. She was later married to John Muilenburg and several years after his death was married to R. Boer the life partner, who died about two weeks ago. She was a devout member of the Reformed church of this place. Deceased was a good wife, a loving mother and a kind neighbor and will be missed greatly by those who knew her. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Reformed church. Rev De Jong and Rev. Stegeman of Ireton having charge of the services and interment was made in Nassau township cemetery. The funeral was largely attended, many being friends of the deceased lady. The children who all live near here excepting Arie De Raad, who lives at Greenbush MN, (next few lines are illegible) … Mrs. Herman Naberheis?, John, Henry, Marinus, Will, Jasper, Albert, Neal, and Arie De Raad. Sincere sympathy is extended the bereaved ones.
