Mrs. Jos. Koehler Funeral Monday

Mrs. Joseph Koehler, nee Schnurr, passed on Thursday, Nov. 6th, at her home in the Granville vicinity, at the age of 51 years, 2 months and 9 days.

Louise Schnurr was born Aug. 27, 1890, in Schanen, Ill., and came to Iowa with her parents in childhood. The family settled at Sutherland but later moved to a farm near Granville. She was married on Jan. 25th, 1910, to Joseph Koehler. Surviving are her husband and one daughter Virginia, her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Bert Schnurr, Sr., of Granville, four brothers and two sisters: Joe, Bert and Henry Schnurr, Mrs. John Niichel of Granville, Herman of Hospers and Mrs. Ed Kopfmann of Milwaukee, Wis.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 10th at St. Joseph’s church in Granville, Rev. Dalhoff officiating, and interment was in the parish cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of a host of friends.

Her death certificate (informant Joseph Koehler) has Louise Koehler, wife of Joseph Koehler; resident of O’Brien County, rural near Granville, for 40 years; born August 27, 1890 at Schanen, Illinois; parents Bartholomew Schnurr Sr., born in Baden, Germany, and Louise Fischer, born in Germany; died at 9:15 p.m. November 6, 1941; cause, carcinoma of right breast with metastisis to upper right lung and dorsal vertebral spine; buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, Granville.

Her FiindaGrave.com page has her as Louise A. C. Schnurr Koehler; born 27 Aug 1890 in Shannon, Carroll County, Illinois; died 13 Dec 1941 in Paullina, O’Brien County, Iowa; buried in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Granville, Iowa. Parents Bert Schnurr (1858-1951) and Louise Fischer Schnurr (1865-1951). There are seven siblings listed. Husband Joseph Peter Koehler (1885-1972).

The Sioux County marriage register for 1909/1910 has groom Joseph P. Koehler, age 25, resident of Granville, a farmer, born at Granville, parents Valentine Koehler and Margretha Suchstetter; bride Louise Schnurr, age 20, resident of Granville, born at Shannon, Illinois, parents Berth Schnurr and Louisa Fisher; married at Granville Jan. 25, 1910.
