Randy Holsinger, 68 of Remsen, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars.

A Memorial Service with military honors will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Randy Edward Holsinger was born on January 19, 1954 in Sioux City, Iowa to Frank and Wilhemetta. Randy was raised in Jefferson, SD, Boystown in Omaha, NE, and in Colorado throughout his childhood. Randy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Cherry Point, North Carolina and Okinawa, Japan. After he was honorably discharged, Randy came back to the Sioux City area. Randy worked various jobs including: John Morrell, Orkin, Wells, and Dean Foods.

Randy was united in marriage to Debbie Raub on January 17, 1997 in Orange City, Iowa. They lived in Sioux City before moving to Remsen.

Randy was a long time member of AA – he began attending meetings in 1990 and had been sober for 32 years. Randy was also a ‘full-time’ grandpa – he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Randy was a kind, open-hearted man who would be friends or strike up a conversation with anyone. He truly understood how to enjoy life and to take it only one day at a time.

Randy loved Halloween; he had a tradition of growing over 100 pumpkins which he would carve all of them and display them for the holiday. He enjoyed being outside and taking care of his yard. He was an avid Denver Broncos and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He also enjoyed playing cribbage and ping-pong.

Randy is survived by his wife, Debbie; three children: Misti Holsinger of Remsen, Jenna (Tyler) Walsh of Nebraska, and Jesse (Sadie) Holsinger of Remsen; four grandchildren: Jordyn Holsinger, Karlie Loutsch, Addlyn Schuppan, and Ryan Holsinger; siblings: Bob (Denise) Holsinger of Sioux City, Rene (Jerry) West of Colorado, Mark (Lydia) Lorenger of California, Jerry (Dawn) Meister of Sioux City, and Carla (Bob) Asher of Sioux City; sisters in law: Sharon Holsinger, Linda Holsinger, and Tami Camberos; brother in law, Orville Heinman; many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Holsinger and Wilhemetta Jernberg; parents in law, Floyd and Darlene Raub; brothers: Frankie Holsinger, Buddy Holsinger, and Scott Holsinger; and sister, JoAnn Heinman.
