Eli Briggs Van Dyke, infant son of Jeremy and Thisbe (Perdomo) Van Dyke, was born on July 16th, 2021 in Sioux Center, Iowa. He and his family lived in Doon, Iowa. He was loved deeply by his older brother, Taysom Van Dyke and his fur-sister, Bella. He will be dearly missed and loved by many.

From the minute Eli entered this world, he was a fire cracker. No one had a bigger appetite than Buggie – that boy could put it down (P.S. Hide the muffins). What stood out most was Eli’s smile. That smile could brighten up the darkest corners on the face of the Earth. It was infectious, bringing joy to everyone around him, even when he didn’t know it.

Eli slept like a champ… and snored like one too (definitely a VD trait). Beyond snoring, Eli mastered many things: chewing of remotes and other’s body parts, peek-a-boo, clapping hands to If You’re Happy and You Know It, sneaking Bella’s puppy chow… and did we mention that boy could eat?

One of Mr. Slugtastic’s favorite things to do was sit on his big brother’s lap in his push car, exploring their own outdoor adventures. In the evenings, Eli loved dancing with mom in the kitchen. His father’s boy, Eli wanted to be everything that was his dada-dada.

Eli is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Thisbe Van Dyke; brother, Taysom, age 2; Grandparents, Dale Van Dyke, Eric and Julie Leaf, Tiburcio (Tibby) Perdomo, and Maria Perdomo; five aunts, Rachel (Brad) Meendering, Shannon (Devon) Mackey, April (Josh) Van Wyhe, Ashley (Darrin) Brummel, and Larissa Van Dyke; uncle, Victor Perdomo; and many cousins.
