Elsie Van Otterloo April 8, 1905—November 11, 1995
Elsie Van Otterloo, 90, of Rock Valley died Saturday, November 11, at the Hegg Memorial hospital in Rock Valley.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, at First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating.

Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Mrs. Van Otterloo was born April 8, 1905, on a farm between Doon and Hull, the daughter of Ralph and Rowena (Kosters) Vander Meer. She attended country school north of Hull and the Sioux Center Christian Elementary School. She graduated from the Western Academy at Hull in 1923. She taught at Hull Christian Elementary and rural school southwest of Rock Valley.

She married Steve H. Van Otterloo March 15, 1929. in Hull. The couple farmed west of Lebanon and later northwest of Rock Valley. They retired and moved into Rock Valley in 1974. He died February 19, 1985, and she moved to Valley Manor March 15, 1991.

She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and Martha Circle of the church.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Dolores and Cornie Rylaarsdam of Sioux Center; a daughter-in-law. Mrs. Jake (Margaret) Teunissen of Rock Valley; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren

She was- also preceded in death by a son, Harold, and seven brothers.
