SWISHER--Betty Jean (Frerichs) Dorsey, 78, Swisher, IA, died June 14, 2022 at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, IA.

Private family burial of the cremated remains will be at the Ankeny Memorial Gardens in Ankeny, at a later date.

Betty was born June 30, 1943, at Hawarden Hospital in Hawarden, IA, the daughter of Herb and Margaret (Ronsiek) Frerichs. She attended Preston #4, a one room school house in Preston Township, Plymouth County, Akron, IA until it closed in 1956. She then attended and graduated from Akron High School in 1961.

Betty was married in September 1966 to Dale Dean Dorsey in Omaha, NE. They lived in the Des Moines area where they raised their two children. Dale passed away in September 1977. In 1984 Betty moved to Sioux City, IA where she completed her bachelor's degree at Morningside College. She then worked in Des Moines for several years before moving to Swisher, IA in 2020.

Betty is survived by her son, Myron Dorsey; daughter, Jodie (Dorsey) Chadima; son-in-law, Dan Chadima; grandchildren, Calvin Chadima, Sophia Chadima, Sarah Chadima, Dean Dorsey, Theola Dorsey; sisters: Donna Frerichs; Carol Frerichs and her husband, Tim Kurth; brother, Keith Frerichs; and many other extended family members and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dale.
