Mr. Steven Cambier, age 65, of Alton, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at the Orange City Area Health System.

Private services were held on Thursday, June 2, at the Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton. Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City is in charge of arrangements.

Steven was born on December 12, 1957, in Orange City, the son of Leland and Pearl (Ahrendsen) Cambier. He was raised in Alton and graduated from the Floyd Valley High School.

He was a long-time employee of the State of Iowa, having worked first in the state-owned liquor stores and then for many years with the Transportation Highway Maintenance Department.

Due to illness, Steve was a resident of the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull for the last few years.

Survivors include his sister, Wanda Highberger, of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a brother, Larry Cambier, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and a niece and nephew, Michelle Dolan and Brent Cambier, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
