Pioneer Farmer died at Hospers

Death came to Lubbert Boersma early Monday morning June 21st at the G. Hofmeyer home, after a long illness with heart trouble and dropsy. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the G. Hofmeyer home and at two o’clock in the Presbyterian Church in Hospers. Rev G. Doctor pastor of the First Ref. Church officiated.

Interment was in the Hospers cemetery.
The deceased was born on a farm west of Hospers on Mar 5, 1878 of pioneer parents the late Mr and Mrs. Harry (Harke) Boersma. He was 64 years old at the time of his death. For many years he farmed west of Hospers. He never married.

Surviving are four siters: Mrs. Gt. Hofmeyer Rena, Mrs. H. Van Donselaar Jane, Mrs. John Vischer Winnie of Lake Crystal MN, Mrs. D. Hofmeyer Martha, and two brothers, Gerrit of Clear lake SD and Martin of Hospers.

Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Boersma; Herman and Virgil Hofmeyer, Harry and Herman Boersma, Harvey Van Donselaar and Victor Boersms
