From the Rock Valley Bee, February 7, 1941:

The funeral of the nine-month-old baby boy of Mr. and Mrs. Hogedoorn was held Tuesday afternoon in Rev. Vander Hoef’s church. The baby died of pneumonia Saturday.

His death certificate has Marion Hoogendoorn, age 8 months 19 days; residence, rural Sioux Townshjp 7 miles west and ¾ mile south of Rock Valley; born May 13, 1940; parents Johannes Hoogendoorn, born in the Netherlands, and Adriana Groeneweg, born in Rock Valley; died at 6:00 p.m. February 1, 1941; cause, broncho pneumonia, duration 2 days.

His FindaGrave.com page adds his parents’ full names and dates: Johannes Arie Hoogendoorn (1910-1969) and Adriana Groeneweg Hoogendloorn (1911-2001).
