In 1880 the township of East Orange Sioux County IA, lived Peter 41 and Gysbertje Vanden Berg 36 they had a large family. This Peter is believed to be their son. They lost several children.

See obits of Peter Sr. VandenBerge 1837-1915 and Gijsberdina Van Vaark (Mrs. Peter Sr) 1842-1930 for more family details. In her obit it states they lost eight children previously.

The family account on ancestry.com doesn’t list this Peter who died 1882 but does have a Peter who was born 1883 – 1941 who would have been born after the first Peter died.
