Oct 11 - Thos. Heth lost a child Wednesday night from diptheria, it was buried yesterday. We did not learn the particulars.
Oct 25- Thos Heth of Settler lost two children on Tuesday last by Diptheria. They were buried Wednesday.

1880 census of Rock Tsp. Sioux County lists Thomas Heth 35 born New York Wife Carrie 31 daughter Mary 1 year.

Thomas was the son of Harrison Heth 63 in 1880 and wife Loanna 62

Thomas Stebbins Heth was born 12 Jul 1844 Sheridan New York and died 13 Apr 1915 Roseland Louisiana. His wife was Caroline Ursula Briggs, 1849-1907. Children Elmer Eugene Heth 1870 – 1879; Arthur Harrison Heth 1871-1879; Archie Edson Heth 1875-1879 Names of those who perished in 1879.
