Driesen, Lyle Conrad 1959-2021

Mr. Lyle Driesen, age 62, of Alton, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Orange City Area Health System.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, December 20, at 11:00am, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. Robert Drenten will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00am to 11:00am on Monday, at the funeral home.

Lyle Conrad was born on August 27, 1959, in Sioux Center, the youngest of ten children born to Edward J. and Elsiena (Kooima) Driesen. He grew up on a farm northwest of Rock Valley and attended the Rock Valley Christian School. When Lyle was ten years old, his parents moved the family to a farm near Hornick, and later to a farm near Marcus, where he completed his education.

In 1988, Lyle moved to Alton, where he worked as a hired man for several area farmers. He liked anything having to do with tractors, particularly Oliver Tractors, and enjoyed attending tractor pulling events. He was also a fan of NASCAR, and Ford cars and trucks.

He is survived by five siblings, Sam Driesen, of Rock Valley; Harlan Driesen, and his wife, Priscilla, of Doon; Joann, and her husband, Larry Bauder, of Hawarden; Glenn Driesen, and his wife, Cindy, of Aurelia; and Arlo Driesen, of Alton; two sisters-in-law, Jean Driesen, of Hawarden; and Florence, and her husband, Lee Vink, of Rock Valley; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepmother, Blanche Driesen; four brothers, Jim Driesen; Ted Driesen, and his wife, Arlene; Duane Driesen; and Allen Driesen; a sister-in-law, Joan Driesen; and a special nephew, David Driesen.

Memorials will be directed to the Driesen Family.
