Birth record has Lisbeth Buren born 22 Dec 1861 Barradeel, Friesland Netherlands, her parents were Arjen Harmens Buren and Teitje Sierds Riedstra,

Marriage record in the Netherlands, she married Hette Fokkema age 24 born in Franeker, Friesland, married 25 Feb 1883 in Franeker.

The couple must have immigrated to the USA after marriage and then he died shortly after that. She then married Jan Nicolai on May 31st 1884 at Orange City IA. She was 23, and it was her second marriage.

Her passing was calm. She knew in whom she believed. This blow is heavy for me, but knowing that God's doing is nonsense, I wish to acquiesce and be still in what his hand sends me.
