Died at his home on last Sunday afternoon, Mr. Luke Kooiker aged 26 years. Mr. Kooiker came to this country in March 1893. The funeral was from the Reformed Church at Hull on Tuesday. Rev. C. Kriekard officiating. For more than three years the young man has been a patient sufferer, and was relieved only by that Messenger, who in time must come to us all whether we are ready to receive him of not.

From a family report on ancestry.com by others, Lucas born 1869 was the son of Harm Kooiker born 12 Apr 1831 Staphorst Netherlands, died 26 Oct 1904 Ruinerwold, Drenthe, Neth.; and Hilligje Wildeboer 1830 - Lucas was from a large family. It is presumed he was a single man.
