DeGraaff, Maggie Mrs. Francis 1910-April 1, 1996

Maggie was the daughter of Bert and Dora Westra Van Batavia. She was born on March 22, 1910, in rural Hull IA. Maggie graduated from the country school.

She married Francis De Graaff on April 4, 1934, in the parsonage of the First Reformed Church at Hull. They made their home in Hull, where in earlier years, she baked cakes and pies for weddings and other occasions. She also helped out Dr. Maris and Miss Dethmers and helped many other people in her own special way. She enjoyed family and friends and was a devoted and kind mother and grandmother. Francis passed away November 23, 1976, at Rock Valley.

Maggie continued to live in her home, visited by many loving relatives and friends. On March 12 on this year, she became a resident of the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. She was a member of the American Reformed Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters and their husbands, Theodora and Bert Kracht of Beaver Creek MN, and Carole and Paul Kleyer of Carmel IA, a son and his wife Norman and Beverley DeGraaf of Hull; ten grandchildren, Leon and Linda Kracht, Carl and Deanne Kracht, Delburt and Dianne Kracht, Darla Kracht, John and Lori Kleyer, Daryl and Lisa Kleyer, Mark and Carol Kleyer, Lori and Preston Vander Plaats, Faron De Graaff, and his finacee. Wendy Techen; and Kara De Graaff, and her special friend, Curtis Bahnsen; nineteen great grandchildren, Traci, Lucas, Becky, and Jessica Kracht; Joseph and Jared Kracht; Crystal, Zachery, and Seth Kracht; Paul, Rebecca, and Sara Kleyer; Nathan and Nicole Kleyer, Kristi and Matt Kleyer, Kari and Maria Vander Plaats; and Kody De Graaff; a sister, Johanna Sohl, of Boyden; and three sisters-in-law.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two great grand children, Nicolas Kracht and Megan Kleyer; four brothers, and three sisters. Blessed be our memories of Maggie.
