Just as we go to press the report reaches us that a son of J. J. Jasper living about 3 miles west of town is dying. They have tree doctors in attendance but say there is little if an hope of recovery.

Tot onze diepe droefheid overleed heden avond omstreeks zes uur, na eene korte ongestoldbeij van slechts vijf dagen, in de ouderdom van 20 jaar en 10 maanden onze geliefde zoon Jan Jasper. Smartelijk is deze slag voor ons ouderhart, en diep geschokt staren we hem na, hoewel het onze hope is hem eens aan Jezus voeten in zaligheid terug te zullen zien. J. J. Jasper and Echtgenoote.
Translated:
To our deep sadness this evening about six o'clock, after a short congested period of only five days, our beloved son Jan Jasper passed away at the age of 20 years and 10 months. Sorrowful is this blow to our parental hearts, and we stare deeply shaken after him, though our hope is one day to see him again at Jesus' feet in bliss. J.J. Jasper and wife .
