He married Ytske Jans Hoekstra July 13,1828 died May 22, 1865 Ferwerdersadeel Friesland Neth. She was the dau of Jan Jurjen Hoekstra and Jantje Ydes Koopmans. He was the son of Jan Ybeles Hoekstra and Antje Rienks Blijstra. Born 3 March 1824 Ferwerderadeel, Friesland. Children listed were Antje 1857, Jantje 1858, Antje 1860 and Jan 1863
