Mrs. Ann M. Adlam, 79, former resident of Hawarden, died Sunday, October 27, in an Eagle Grove Nursing Home. Her funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Grace Hill Cemetery. Reverend Herbert Young officiated.

Mr. and Mrs. Hal Shoemaker provided the music using the hymns “In the Garden” and “My God and I. Casket bearers were Francis Koenecke, Ken Bode, Jack Bode, Ronald Carr, Jack Roper, and Roy Mapes.

Mrs. Adlam was born Ann M. Hering on February 6, 1889, in Chicago. She married John Adlam in Chicago on June 8, 1910. The couple lived in Chicago until 1949 when they moved to Hawarden. Her husband died October 10, 1956, and she moved to the nursing home in Eagle Grove in 1967.

She is survived by a son, Jack, of Baltimore, Maryland; two daughters, Mrs. George Bode of Hawarden and Mrs. Lawrence Schurman of Eagle Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Schubbe of Harvey, Illinois, and Mrs. Lydia Stilson of Lowell, Indiana; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
