Brooklyn Center - Brown, B.N. "Bud", age 79, of Brooklyn Center, passed away on February 2, 2021.

Benjamin Norcross Brown Jr. Bud was born February 12th, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama to Norcross and Betty Brown. At an early age they moved to Hawarden, Iowa where he graduated in 1959.

He attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion graduating in 1963 with a history degree and a double minor in journalism and government. He joined the Lambda Chi Alpha social fraternity and was a staff member at the student newspaper. After graduation, he worked as a city editor and the sports editor at the Watertown Public Opinion in Watertown, South Dakota.

He returned to Vermillion, SD as the USD Sports Information Director. He was proud to have participated in the planning and development of the Dakota Dome. The family then moved to Hawarden, IA and purchased what became Browns K&K Store. While in Hawarden he was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Masons, Abu Bekr Shrine Temple in Sioux City, IA, along with many other organizations.

He later moved to Sioux Falls, SD where he worked as a sales representative at various auto dealers in the area, as a sales associate at JC Penney, and in customer service at Citibank. After retirement, he moved to Minnesota to be closer to his family.

He enjoyed sports and fishing, but most of all, he cherished his family. He is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Shelley) of Kansas City; a daughter Jennifer (Tim) Ehde of Minneapolis; four grandchildren, Julia (Andrew) Oleen, Maggie Brown, Sam Ehde, and Kate Ehde; and one sister, Becky (Ron) Treiber of Beresford, SD.

A small family service will be held at a later date.
