From the Alton Democrat, May 19, 1939, Maurice news:

A number from here went to Le Mars Saturday afternoon to attend the burial services of Mrs. Michael Needham, a former Sioux County resident, who died at her home in Spencer Wednesday at the age of 68 years. Mrs. Needham was the former Annie Keough and was born and raised on a farm southwest of Maurice. She had been a resident of Spencer for the past 10 years. Besides her husband she leaves two brothers, Tom and Will, of Spencer and a sister Mrs. Daley of Yankton, S.D. Funeral services were held at Spencer Saturday morning and burial services and interment were made in Le Mars Saturday afternoon.

Former Maurice Girl Dies at Spencer

Friends in Le Mars received word Thursday of the death of Mrs. Michael Needham, former Sioux county resident, at her home in Spencer, Iowa, Wednesday. She was a sister of Will Keough of Spencer, well known former Le Mars resident, and of Thos. Keough, of Maurice. Mrs. Needham was an aunt of Verne Keough of Le Mars. The funeral will be held Saturday morning in Spencer and the remains brought here for burial.

Her death certificate has her as Anna K. Needham, wife of Michael Needham; born December 25, 1871 in Manchester, Iowa; parents Michael Keough and Hannah Burke, both born in Ireland; resident in Spencer for 12 years; died at 11:30 a.m. May 10, 1939, of angina pectoris, onset 1935.

Her FindaGrave.com page has her as Anna B. Keough Needham, gives her death date as May 11, 1939, shows her buried in Calvary Cemetery, LeMars, and includes a photo of the joint headstone of her and her husband (“Michael B. 1866-1941” “Anna B. 1871-1939”).

WEDDING AT MAURICE
Miss Anna Keough and Michael Needham are Married

Mr. Michael Needham, of New Hampton, Iowa, and Miss Anna B. Keough, of Maurice, Iowa, were joined in holy wedlock at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Maurice Saturday morning at 8:30, Father C. J. Conway officiating. The bride was attended by Miss Katherine A. Redmond, of LeMars, and the groom by Mr. Thomas Keough, a brother of the bride.

The bride was attired in a beautiful suit of silk catalpa with hat and gloves to match. The bridesmaid wore a becoming suit of blue French serge with hat and gloves to match.

After the ceremony the bridal party drove to the beautiful country home of the bride, where a breakfast in five courses was served. The house was prettily decorated in the chosen colors of the bride, pink and white. The happy couple were the recipients of many beautiful wedding gifts including cut glass and silver. They left on the afternoon train for Omaha and other western points. They will be at home to attend their friends at New Hampshire, Iowa, after March 15.
