From the Alton Democrat, March 4, 1938, Orange City news:

DEATH CALLS AGED CITIZEN

W. Brink, Sr., passed away at his home Friday morning, Feb. 25. He was found dead in his bed by his granddaughter, Mildred, and by Clarence Jonker whom she had called, suspecting that something was wrong.

Mrs. Brink passed away about three years ago. Surviving are Mrs. Minnie Vander Naald, Gerrit and Henry Brink, all of Maurice, and Rev. J. Brink of Boyden.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Reformed church with Rev. H. Colenbrander and Rev. J. H. Straks of Sanborn officiating. Burial was in the family plot at Maurice.

RESEARCH NOTES

The Sioux County Capital (Orange City) seems to have published only a brief note regarding his funeral.

His death certificate has him as H. William Brink, born 17 December 1856 in the Netherlands; father Hendrik Brink, mother’s name unknown to the informant, Henry Brink; widowed, wife Berdena Brink; a retired farmer; died at 1 a.m. February 24, 1938; cause, Heart [illegible, possibly “block” or "atack"]

The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Brink, H. William, b. 1856, d. 1938 ss Berdena, Sherman Township Cemetery, Maurice, IA.

His FindaGrave.com page has him as Hendrik William Brink, born 17 Dec 1856 in Wilp, Voorst Municipality, Gelderland; died 25 Feb 1938 in Orange City; parents Heimerik Brink (1816-1899) and Wilhelmina Diks Brink (1817-1895); six siblings listed; spouse Berdena Pennings Brink (1857-1935); two children listed: Gerrit Willem Brink (1880-1957) and John W. Brink (1885-1959). There is a photo of his (as H. William) and Berendena’s joint headstone.

WieWasWie.nl has a birth index entry for Hendrik Willem Brink; father Heimerik Brink, age 40, a daghuurder (day renter, [i.e. day laborer?]); mother Willemina Diks; born 17 Dec 1856 in Wilp.

The 1910 census shows H. William (53) and Berendina (52), married for 33 years, and their son John W. (24) living in Maurice. H. W. immigrated in 1868, is naturalized, and has his own income; Berendina was also born in Holland and immigrated in 1871; John W. has no occupation. The 1920 census shows Henry W. (64) and Dina (64) living in Maurice but with his occupation given as dairy farmer. He immigrated in 1868, she in 1870, both were naturalized in 1876.
