Michael Cy Cavener, the son of Cynus E. and Edith Marie Woodring Cavener was born on December 2, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He obtained his GED and began working various jobs. On August 4, 2006 he was united in marriage to Lori Kaelin at St. Joseph MO. The couple moved to Sheldon in 2008 where Michael was employed with Smithfield in Orange City until his retirement in 2017. He worked his way up to management and was know as the sanitation guru. Michael passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Sanford Sheldon Medial Center reaching the age of 68 years and 15 days.

Michael enjoyed taking care of his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He also had the love for animals.
Left to cherish Michael’s memory is his wife Lori, two stepdaughters, Rachel and Taylor Burchett, three grandchildren, Jordyn Hadley and Eli. He was also survived by his brother, Tony Caverner.

Michael was precede in death by his parents, Cyrus and Edith Cavener and a brother Steve Cavener.
