From the Sioux County Capital, May 5, 1938:

Lou Minner of Gilbert, Arizona died Friday morning after a long illness. For eight months he had been in a Phoenix, Ariz. hospital where he passed away. Death was caused by a streptococcus infection.

Mr. Minner was born at Garwin, Ia. 59 years ago. In 1900 he came to Orange City as dispatcher for the Northwestern railroad. The latter, who survives him, is an invalid confined to a wheel chair. Mrs. Minner’s illness was aggravated when she was thrown to the ground by the collapse of a grandstand in Sioux Center years ago.

In 1904, Mr. Minner was married to Miss Arta Vos, the daughter of Joseph Vos at one time postmaster of Orange City. They were the parents of one daughter, Leona, who is now Mrs. George Rich of Ray, Arizona. There is also one grandchild, Norman. Besides his wife and daughter, Mr. Minner is survived by one sister.
