Wife: Akke Algra born 18 Feb 1838 Wonseradeel Friesland, Netherlands died 22 Mar 1917 Rock Valley IA.

They were married 15 Jun 1865 Wonseradeel Friesland Netherlands They came to USA in 1894. In 1900 they were living in Plato Township Sioux County IA. They had children – Jopke 1866, Jelle 1867, Reindert 1869, Pier 1871 and one other born 1875.

Maandagavond is plotseling, na een kortstondige ziekte, overleden de oude heer Attema. De begrafenis zal morgen plaats hebben. Des morgens om 9 uur is er dienst aanhet sterfhuis en om 12 uur in de Chr. Ref. Church.
Translated:
Monday evening, after a short illness, old Mr. Attema suddenly passed away. The funeral will take place tomorrow. In the morning at 9 o'clock there is service at the house of death and at 12 o'clock in the Chr. Ref. Church.
