Translated:
Sunday afternoon at noon died in Carmel Mrs. D. Schut after only a day's illness, shocking her husband and four young children. This death news came very unexpectedly. On Friday afternoon she was still in Sioux Center to see her mother, Mrs. Point over here, to visit, which is confined to the sickbed. Then she was still well. The funeral service had yesterday Tuesday morning at 11 am at the house of death and the afternoon at 2 pm in the 1st Ref. Church, after which the remains of the still relatively young woman and mother were assigned to the earth in the presence of many relatives and participating friends. Must have undoubtedly been hard for the mother of the deceased to be bound to the sickbed under all this. We extend our condolences to the grieving family and further relationships.

From a family history on ancestry.com (by others) Maaike was the daughter of Sanderus Schut 1929-1921 and Fennetje Ten Houten 1840-1899. She was the mother of four children Fannie 1893, Cornelius 1895, Maria 1898 and Sanderus 1900.
