Knewel, John’s (child of John and Marie), the stone indicates he was born 1875-1880, he is on same stone with numerous family members. Augusta born 1874 died 1880, James 1878-1880, Lena 1872-1880 All believed to be children of the same family ravaged by diphtheria.

We regret to learn of the death on Wednesday night of a child of John Knewell in Pattersonville: a bright little boy of about 5 years. He was buried Thursday being the first interment in the new Catholic cemetery at Pattersonville. The disease was diphtheria. Another child is the same family is very low with the same disease.
