Mr. and Mrs. John Kolvoord lost an infant child at Orange City on Friday of last week. The little one was taken sick while on their farm in Lincoln, they at once went home and medical aid was summoned but without avail.

Noted in a birth note on line for John Kolvood born 13 Sep 1875 Ottawa MI that his mother's name was Johanna 'Anna' Bolt.

In the 1800 census of Lincoln township lived J. Kilvoord (Kolvoord) age 29 born in Michigan with wife Anna 27 born in Michigan, son John 4 yrs, and daughter Cornelis 2 yrs born in IA.
It is believed the family returned to Michigan, which is confirmed by an article in the Alton Review of Feb 29, 1884 the family left for Hamilton Michigan.

John Kolvoord's name appeared many times in the local newspapers fron 1877-1884 as a teacher, superintendent of schools, and businessman.
