HENRY F. BECKER, 88, INSURANCE FOUNDER, DIES AT LE MARS

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the American Lutheran Church in Le Mars for Henry F. Becker, 88, an early day pioneer of Plymouth County who died at his home in Le Mars Saturday.

He was born in Clayton County, Iowa, February 16, 1859, son of Joe and Elizabeth (Weinraden) Becker. He married Elizabeth Klinge, November 28, 1873 and three years later moved to a farm near Struble, retiring in 1915 and moved to Le Mars.

He founder the German Mutual Insurance Association of Sioux, Plymouth and Lyon Counties and served as president of the association 52 consecutive years.

Survivors are three sons, Emil and Alvin Becker of Le Mars, Helmuth Becker of Madison, South Dakota; five daughters, Mrs. Amelia Carlson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mrs. John Bangwin and Miss Lillian Becker of Le Mars, Mrs. M.M. Harrison of Storm Lake, and Miss Norma Becker of De Moines; 31 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
