Steven Douglas Lerdal, 69, of Renner, South Dakota passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer.

Steve was born on August 6, 1951, the son of Merle and Madeline (Monger) Lerdal in Sioux Falls. He was raised on the family farm in Highland Township of Minnehaha County. He attended country school in District #45 and graduated from Jasper High School in 1969.

He worked in the implement industry first for Jack Farrell (Pipestone, MN), Lynott Implement (Hawarden, IA) and Titan Machinery (Platte, SD) before retiring from Lynott Implement in 2018.

He was united in marriage to Susan Fuglsby on March 21, 1970 and to this union, three sons were born, Scott, Jeff, and Mark.

He was an outdoor man who loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was a member of the Hawarden pit clubs, as well as a Jaycee. He enjoyed his time as a Scout Master for all three of his children.

Steve is survived by his significant other, Ann Munce of Renner, SD; his three children and their spouses, Scott (Sherry) of Hull, IA, Jeff (Robin) of Hawarden, IA, and Mark (Chellsie) of Brookings, SD; his grandchildren, Kaylee (Jonny) Strong, Zach and Isaac Lerdal, Samantha, Derrik, (Kayla) Orton; He also was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Tyson and Jase Strong, Jakobie Orton, Kashton Strubb, Blythe and Tripp Orton; his siblings, Jeanne (Joel) Oolman of Slayton, MN and Jim (Angie) Lerdal of Brookings, SD; his niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jewyll Sponheim and Joanne Lerdal; two brothers, Gary and Ron Lerdal.
