Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church at Boyden at 1:30 P.M. October 11 for Ray Brockhouse, 86, of Boyden, who died in the Boyden Nursing Home October 9.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Henry Schoon and burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery at Sioux Falls.

Mr. Brockhouse was born October 27, 1882, in The Netherlands. He came to the United States as a youth and farmed near Orange City and Edgerton, Minnesota.

He was married to Nellie Maris February 19, 1907, at Edgerton. They lived at Edgerton 10 years, then moved to Sioux Falls. His wife preceded him in death.

On December 5, 1946, he was married to Mrs. Anna Dethmers at Boyden and had resided there for many years.

Survivors include the widow, two sons, Henry and Peter, of Sioux Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Lowell of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Gerals Corkins of Renton, Washington; two step-daughters, Mrs. John Klein of Bellflower, California, and Mrs. Norman Bell of Boyden; a step-son, Robert Dethmers, of Boyden; ten grandchildren; and four brothers, Art, Steve, Garhardt, and Gerrit, all of Edgerton.
