It was a shocking event when the news was received here that a young man by the name of Wiersma from Hull was drowned in the Rock river. He went there with about forty persons for a picnic.

Word was received here by Mrs. T. Miersma and Miss S. Miersma that Teunis, the 19-year-old son of their brother Paulus at Hull drowned Tuesday in the Rock River. Funeral services were held at Hull on Thursday.
