Theodore G. De Hoogh, Jr., of Sheldon died Monday, December 21, at his residence. Services were Thursday at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, the Reverend Dr. Warren Hietbrink officiating. Burial was at East Lawn Cemetery.

Theodore De Hoogh was born October 17, 1910, in Boyden, the son of Theodore C. and Adriana (Oranje) De Hoogh. In 1917, he moved to Sheldon with his family. He married Nellie Van Rennes on June 9, 1938, in Nashua. The couple lived in Sheldon where he began employment with Neal Chase Lumber Company in 1941. He retired as office manager about 1982. His wife died on June 3, 1989, in Sheldon.

De Hoogh was a member of First Reformed Church and a longtime member of the Carpenter’s Advisory Board at Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Theodore M. and Noreen De Hoogh of Sioux Center; a daughter and her husband, Virginia and Dios Kavvadias of Omaha; four grandchildren, Nathan and Derek De Hoogh and Eugenia and John Kavvadias; and four brothers, Cornelius, John and Adrian, all of Sheldon, and Dick of Sioux Falls.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerard.
