MRS. KLAAS VANDER STOEP POPMA Neeltje Noteboom was born in Pella, la. on October 13, 1860, the daughter of Peter and Mary Noteboom. She lost her parents in her childhood. With a brother she moved to Sioux County where, in 1879 she married Klaas Vander Stoep. They settled on a homestead near Maurice, Iowa, and retired in 1915. moving to Maurice where they spent the remainder of their days. Mrs. Vander Stoep was preceded in death by her husband in January 1927.

In 1936 she was married to Mr. Frank Popma, who died in 1946- Mrs. Vander Stoep Popma was injured in a fall at her home on April 3rd. She was taken to Orange City, to the home of her son, where she departed from this life on Saturday morning, April 7th, 1951 at the age of ninety and one half years.

She is survived by her ten children, Mrs. Johanna Van Roekel, Maurice, Iowa; Peter Vander Stoep, Alton, la.; Andrew Mary Vande Brake, Groton, S. Vander Stoep, Alton, Iowa; Mrs. Dak.; Mrs. Tena Ellerbroek, Tillemook, Ore.; Mrs. Alida Van Bruggen, Ireton, la.; Mrs. Hattie Van Roekel, Maurice, la.; Mrs. Eva Van Pelt, Bellflower, Calif.: la. and Gerrit Vander Stoep Arie Vander Stoep, Orange City, Pittsville, III. Also surviving are 52 grandchildren, 109 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Maurice On Wednesday, April 11, 1951: Home services were held at 1 p- m and church services at the First Reformed church at 1:30 , p. m. Rev. J. Roggen officiated, assisted by Rev. J. Straks: All the children were home for the funeral.
