Jake Scholten died September 15 at the Rock Rapids Hospital at the age of 81 years. Funeral services were held Saturday from the Doon Congregational Church.

Within four months, three Scholten brothers died, Marinus at Edgerton, Minnesota, John at Hull and Jake at Rock Rapids.

He is survived by one brother, Gerrit of Hull, three sons and four daughters. His wife Geesje (Kloek) Scholten passed away in 1947.
