Van Wyhe, Lawrence J. born 29 Oct 1913 Ireton IA died Craig, Plymouth Co. IA, Nov 9, 1979 buried in Pleasant Hill cemetery Ireton IA.

His parents were Jan John Van Wyhe 1888-1972 and Sophie Klave 1893-1981. Wife Sophie Brzoza 1913-2000

Funeral services for Lawrence J. Van Wyhe, 86, Craig, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, Craig. Rev. William Gregerson officiated and burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Ireton. The Mauer funeral home was in charge of arrangements, Mr. Van Wyhe died unexpectedly Friday (Nov. 9, 1979) at his home. He was a Craig businessman.

Mr. Van Wyhe was born Oct. 29,1913, in Sioux county to John and Sophie Klave Van Wyhe. He married Sophie Brzoza Dec. 27, 1944, in Chicago. A lifelong resident of that area, he moved in 1939 to Craig where he operated the Craig repair shop. A world war 2 veteran, he was a member of the Brunsville American Legion post and St. John's Lutheran church.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Edgar of West Chicago, IL.; a son, Lawrence W. of Sergeant Bluff; three grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Sophie Van Wyhe of Ireton; four brothers, John, Elmer, Robert and Raymond, all of Ireton; and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Popma of Le Mars, Mrs. Viola Liston of Hawarden, and Mrs. Leona Koopmans of Ireton. He was preceded in death by his father.
