Jake Ver Sluis Aged Hull Resident Died Wednesday.
Mr. Jacob VerSluis 81 years old, died at his home in Hull Wednesday morning March 5th following an illness of over three months. Mr. Ver Sluis was born in Noorbradband, Province of Fijnaart, The Netherlands on Sept 15th 1859. He came to this country as a young man of 18 years and on Sept. 24 1894 he was untied in marriage to Gertrude Cravens, nee Ypma. To this union five children were born, three of whom survive him. They are Mrs. A. C. De Groot of Rock Valley; C. H. Ver Sluis of Lake Benton MN and Gerrit VerSluis of Ruthten MN. Besides the wife and the children named he is survived by a step daughter. Mrs. Clara Malkenhorst of linden WA; ten grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Maria Van Dis in the Netherlands; and two brother . Gerrit his twin and Arie both of Canada. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon Mar 14th at 1;30 o’clock at the home conducted by Rev. G. H. Douwstra. Burial will be in Hope cemetery.
