Elaine Wilma (Kleene) Hofkamp, age 77, of Leota, went to her heavenly home on Monday, August 24, 2020. She was born February 7, 1943 in LeMars, IA to Wilbert and Wilmina Kleene. Elaine moved with her parents to Ireton, IA. Elaine completed her education in Carmel Country School, Hull Public School and graduted from Boyden Hull Public School. Elaine continued her education at Stewart School of Cosmetology in Sioux City, IA. Upon completion of school she started her own Beauty shop (Modern Kut ‘n Kurl in Hull, Ia. After a short break she ran the Boyden Beauty shop, and the villager Shop in the Basement of the Carmel Grocery Store.

Elaine met the love of her life Vernon (Bud) Hofkamp and was united in marriage on July 12, 1974. To this union they had three daughters. Bud and Elaine farmed by Leota until partial retirement in 1996, moved them just a mile away to their current home in Leota. Elaine was a stay at home mom until the girls got older. She then began working at Huiskens Meat Center, in Chandler, until she retired in 2005. She enjoyed many hobbies over the years. She enjoyed camping with her family, crocheting, sewing, embrodering on towels. Elaine loved to go to her Grandsons ballgames. Whether it was one game or a full day she wanted to be there.

Elaine was a amazing wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She will be missed by many.

Those lucky enough to share her life included: her husband of 46 years, Bud Hofkamp of Leota, MN, Julie (Dan) Heeren of Beresford, SD; Karla Hofkamp (and special Friend, Jason Childers), Worthington, MN; Renae (Mike) Fonder of Tea, SD. Three Grandsons, Peyton Sieber, Lane Sieber and Quintin Fonder of Tea, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother.

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Friday at the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. Funeral Service will be 10 am Saturday at the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

The Leota Burial Association and Dingmann Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
