Adam Punt, age 79, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 10, 2020 at the Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa.
A prayer service will take place at 10:00 AM Monday, August 10th at the Central Reformed Church with burial to follow the prayer service in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9th from 2pm to 4pm with family present at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. Social distancing will be followed. Masks are encouraged.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
Adam Evert Punt was born November 6, 1940 to Gerrit and Edna (Van Putten) Punt in Maurice, Iowa. He was raised on a farm and graduated from Sioux Center High School. On July 24, 1969 Adam was united in marriage to Marlene Voorderman in Sioux Center. They lived in Sioux Center and raised two daughters, Mindy and Connie. During his life Adam worked at Sioux Center Creamery, Sioux Preme Packing for 38 years, and Casey’s Bakery for 10 years. He was a member of Central Reformed Church where he served as Deacon. He enjoyed watching Sioux Center High school sports, where you would hear him cheering loudly. He also really enjoyed going for rides while listening to Polka music, horses, and was a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees. His family was very important to him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Marlene; children, Mindy (Dan) Liechti of Sheldon, IA, and Connie (Kevin) Vander Ploeg of Sioux Center, IA; grandson, Taylor (Sarah) Vander Ploeg of Raleigh, NC; brothers and sisters, Stan and Wanda Punt, Willard Rensink, Margene Baker, Harold and Lorna Vander Vliet, and Sharon Snieder; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit and Edna Punt; sister, Gracia Rensink; brothers-in-law, Herlon Baker and Norm Snieder; and parents-in-law, Henry and Gert Vander Vliet.
