Marvin Pruismann age 95 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in Sioux Center, Iowa surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM, Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Parkview Events Center in Rock Valley, Iowa with Dean Dykstra and Chet Stidolph officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 5pm to 7pm at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. Social distancing will be followed.

In lieu of flowers the Pruismann family prefers memorials be directed Hospice of Sioux Center Health.

Marvin R. Pruismann was born September 19, 1924 in Rake, IA to Frank D. and Katie (Siemens) Pruismann. On December 22, 1949 he was united in marriage to Jeanette Florence Doornink at her parent’s home in Sioux Center. The couple lived at Hawarden where Marvin worked for Oscar Norberg, and Jean was a nurse at the Hawarden Hospital. Later they moved to the Doornink family century farm where they remained until their retirement in 1995. The farm remains in the family. Marvin and Jean moved to Sioux Center for their retirement. Marvin enjoyed hunting, pinochle, snooker, and rook. He especially enjoyed visiting and playing Dutch bingo. But mostly Marvin loved his family. Being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him.

Marvin committed his life to God at a young age. He lived that commitment the rest of his life.

He is survived by his son, Kent (Sylvia) Pruismann of Rock Valley, IA; daughter-in-law, Char Pruismann of Central City, IA; daughter, Karen (Dan) Mulder of Sioux Center, IA; son, Kevin Pruismann of Sioux Center, IA; daughter, Kay (Jim) Kosters of Sioux Center; adopted into the family, Tom (Kay) Dye of Rock Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Sandra) Pruismann, Robert (Gladys) Pruismann, Kenny (Mary) Pruismann, and sister, Kathy (Tom) Roberts; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; son, Kirk Pruismann; parents-in-law; brother, Harold; sisters, Luella DeBoer, Frances Black, Arlene Albert, and Janette Minzenmeyer.
