Daughter of Ruurd Postuma 1809-1885 and Aaltje Durks De Vries 1810-1888

Wednesday evening 9 May at the home of her son Henry Jacobsma west of the city, died the widow H. Jacobsma in the age of 78 years and 9 months. She was born in Friesland Ned. And there in the marriage connected to Mr. H. Jacbosma who was taken from her by death in the year 1889 (1898). In 1882, his family consisting of father, mother and 8 children came to America and settled in Orange City. Her husband has also preceded her three children Klaas, Aaltje and Mrs. G. Vander Meulen. The children still alive are Ruurt, Hendrik and Siebe, here; Sije of Hospers and Pieter of Rock Valley. After the death of her husband, had her home with her daughter Mrs. Vander Meulen and after his death at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. Jacobsma. The Children may cherish the hope that mother has entered the eternal peace. The Funeral from the Christian Ref Church under the direction of Dr. Haan.
