Frank Vander Maaten 68 passed away Saturday morning, June 22 in a local hospital. He suffered with asthma and heart trouble for some time.

Mr. Vander Maaten was born April 30, 1878 in the Netherlands. He came to America with his parents who settled at Alton and soon after moved to a farm 4 miles south of Boyden, where the decedent continued until the time of his death, living these last years with his brother Bert. He was never married.

Surviving him are his brother, Bert and a half brother, Gerrit Vander Maaten, both of Boyden and Stella, Mrs. John Vander Laan of Orange City. Preceding him in death are 4 brothers, John, Albert, Jacob and a half brother Frank, and his sister Mary, Mrs. Gt. Vanden Bosch.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Andrew Vander Maaten home south of Boyden and at 1:30 P.m. in the Ref. church at Middleburg.
