To add to the mention of this week, concerning the death of Miss Johanna M. Van der Haak She was born 16 Oct 1878, on the homestead, 5 miles north from Orange City, where she lived with her parents until March 1905, when the family moved to the city. About eight years ago, her father died. Besides her elderly mother, she leaves behind two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. W. Oordt of Sheldon; Mr. R. Van der Haak of Sibley; Mrs. N. Noteboom and Mr. John Van der Haak of Orange City, Mrs. Benj. Vaas of Hospers. The funeral service took place Friday p.m., 1 May in the 1st Chr. Ger. Church, where some comforting words were spoken by Ds. Monsma about Psalm 49 vs. 16.
