Monday evening, 9 Dec., at about 10 o'clock, Mr. W. Van Der Burg, Sr., is gentle and calm in the hope of eternal life in the age of 87 years. He witnessed the light of life on 2 Feb 1832 in Rijssen Overijsel, Ned. In 1872 he married Everdina Lammers. In 1882, they came to America with four children and first settled in Cincinnati OH, where they lived for only one year, and then moved to Sioux County where the family had lived. As well as the grieving widow, now feeling a loss, he leaves behind 7 children: Mrs. J. Van der Mey of Grand Rapids MI; Gerrit of IL, John W. of Hospers; Mrs. P. Wersma and Willem of Orange City, Miss Dena at home, Mrs. H. J. Alberda of MT. Although the Lord spared him for a long time for his loved ones, and left him with a ripening old age, he still leaves a sensitive place, even in the Chr. Ger. gem, here, where he was a faithful member of the age of the year, but especially in the home. His last event was short, just a few days; but he was ready to meet his master, and enter the Heavenly House. The Funeral will take place tomorrow Thursday, at 2 o'clock from the death house and at 3:30 from the Chr. Ref. church here, led by Dr. R. L. Haan.
