Research note: from a report on ancestry.com (by others) Jan ‘John’ Vander Beek born 5 Jun 1869 Dantumadeel, Friesland Neth. Died 4 Mar 1930 Hospers IA, parents Arjen Gerardus Vander Beek 1840-1891 and Tietje Jans Kooistra 1844-1919.

His wife was Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ De Kok 1872-1953. See Her obit for more family details. Children – Sijtske 1895, Agnes 1897, Ira 1899, Lewe 1901, Daniel 1904, Garrett 1910, Frank 1913.
